Three beauty tricks doing the “trick”

September 25, 2018

I might not be a makeup expert, but you can call me a skincare product junkie. I love learning about my skin, changing up my routine, learning new tricks and trying new beauty products. Give me a Sephora gift card and it’ll probably go towards a new moisturizer.. or cleanser. Point is, I’ve learned a thing or two and I wanted to share what new tricks & products I feel are really “doing the trick”.

Ps I will link all my favorite products at the end of this post!

Night time oil & moisturizer

I can be really bad about moisturizing. My skin is not naturally soft/smooth, so I have to work extra hard to moisturize. I promise I’m working on getting better, but what I’m really focusing on is my face. The minute I turned 25, something told me.. hey, you’re getting older, take care of your face! I noticed a few changes in my skin and knew I needed to add a few more steps to my regular skincare routine. So, I started searching for the perfect night cream/oil. I started with a good moisturizer but felt that I needed a little more.. my skin wasn’t feeling like a “baby’s butt” in the morning. I’ve recently started using Sunday Riley’s night time oil and moisturizer, which have made my skin feel much better. I’ve only been using it for about 5 weeks but I can already feel a difference. Correction, I felt a difference on day 1! My face truly feels like a baby’s butt in the morning and the feeling has me craving for more every day.. so I make sure to never skip this step. Overtime, I’ve learned that when my skin is properly moisturized, I get less acne and my makeup goes on smoother, so I think it’s safe to say this has been a great help. If using a night time oil is not in your night time routine, I definitely recommend looking into it!

Exfoliating regularly

Exfoliating and moisturizing go hand in hand. It’s like exfoliating is the start and moisturizing the finishing touch to beautiful skin. I like to exfoliate once every few days with my Clarisonic with a regular cleanser. This works for me because my skin is so sensitive! Using it every day would irritate my skin. I use a charcoal cleanser the other days and it seems to keep breakouts away! I’ve also started using a toner in the mornings. I usually wash my face at night and I use a toner in the morning before applying SPF and makeup. Honestly, I don’t know how I wasn’t doing that before! I’m amazed at how much stuff the cotton ball picks up from my face! Imagine applying more junk on top of that?

Mask it up

I’ve been playing with different masks. Regular masks, peels, sheet masks, you name it! I love applying a mask once a week, which I’ve tried doing regularly the past few months and I love it. I’m gonna be completely honest, I can only name a few that I can truly see a difference with (I’ll link them below). Nonetheless, giving my skin and extra boost once in a while feels amazing. Depending on what I feel my face needs, I’ll use a peel or a specific sheet mask for hydration or whatever I feel I need.

I’d love to know what you’re using to help your skin glow.. I’m always learning! I didn’t mention this but I’ve also started using a Jade roller in the mornings! I love the feeling and even though it’s too early to tell the difference, I don’t mind using it until I do!

As always, thank you for stopping by! Let me know if you use any of these products and how you like them!

Love,

Cynthia
