To be honest, I still have trouble putting together my work outfits. I try not to think about the outfits too long, but long enough to make sure I’m hitting a few key points. Is it cute but also professional? Am I going to be comfortable wearing this all day? Are the people at my job ready to see me in this outfit (this is not a joke and probably something people should ask themselves more often)! I keep these things in mind before choosing what I’m wearing every single day.
You really don’t have to spend a ton to look professional. The other day I watched a documentary about minimalism where a lady wore the same 30 pieces of clothing/accessories all year long. No one ever noticed! It really doesn’t take much to dress appropriately and professionally for work. You don’t need a ton of dresses and blouses, but having plenty of neutrals helps!
I wanted to share one of my favorite ways to dress for work. I basically take a pair of work pants (I have a couple of favorites) and pair them with pretty much any blouse in my closet. I tuck it in if it looks right, and wear heels for a more professional vibe.
