Mini dresses made for walking

June 27, 2018

Guess what,

We’re leaving for California in 15 days! It may not sound super exciting to some of you, but it means so much for my husband and I for several different reasons. A, we’ve never been to California… what? Yeah I know. We’re planning on landing in LA and then driving up the coast to San Francisco, making a few stops along the way. We’re excited to spend time at the beach (obviously) and check a few “places to visit” off our list.

So, between finding good restaurants and coffee shops to visit, I’ve also been looking everywhere for the right outfits. I want this trip to be different and I’m committed to finding everything I need in advance so I don’t have to run all around town the day before the trip. We are procrastinators to say the least, so believe me when I tell you we usually pack our things the night before and depending on how early our flight is, we might or might not sleep that night. Well, this is a 10 day trip that I want to enjoy as much as possible, so I think it’ll be smart to save my energy for the late nights and early mornings on the trip.

I’ve been specifically shopping for dresses that I feel are comfortable, sexy and of course stylish. I’m looking for a Cali girl vibe.. hah! Mini dresses are definitely having a moment for me right now, so that’s what I’ve been gravitating towards. I’m looking for dresses that can be dressed up or down (which is a plus for a trip) and that wont fly around and show your undies if the weather gets a little windy! That’s probably what I hate the most about those mini flowy dresses. Yes, they are super cute, but if you’re walking around all day, you don’t want to have to worry about holding down your dress, am I right?

I found a nice one at Forever 21 the other day, that I felt hit all those points I was looking for. It’s cute, comfortable and definitely won’t fly around. I dressed it down with a jean jacket and the cutest Chanel flats –which are actually my mom’s. Too bad I have to give them back and won’t be using them on this trip. *sad face

Check out my current favorites. A few of these will most likely find their way to my suit case.

If you have any suggestions for places we should visit while in California, please let me know! We’re visiting LA, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, and Napa (making stops between those cities too). Also, let me know how you feel about these dresses! Are you a short dress kinda girl? Or do you prefer midi or maxi?

Thank you so much for stopping by!
