Using Art Prints in your kitchen ft. ArtMail

February 13, 2019

Prints in the kitchen? Absolutely. And I’m not talking about the ones that say “HANGRY” or “Bon Appetit”, I’m talking actual art prints. I was always curious about using art in my kitchen.. I just didn’t know how. I saw a lot of amazing ideas on Pinterest but never really experimented despite having plenty of space in the open shelves. This has recently changed, however, and I’m really excited to share. Read on to learn a little bit more about where these prints are from, the artist and how I styled them in my kitchen!

I was gifted these beautiful prints (the Flora and Fauna gallery) from ArtMail, a company that works with artists from all over the world to create beautiful prints from their original work. They have a fine print subscription where they hand pick art for their clients based on their taste, the prints always come with an in-depth artist interview and certificate of authenticity.

The prints I received are from Coricci, an artist born and raised in Japan. His work is focused on minimalism and simplified forms. If you have been following me a while, you might have noticed I am naturally drawn to minimalism, so I was in awe with Coricci’s art. The curators at ArtMail took a look at some pictures of our home and were able to pick these prints for us, which fit perfectly in our house. Isn’t this perfect? To not have to think about what prints fit with your style and have someone pick them for you? ArtMail does this for their clients, which sounds very fancy and expensive but it’s actually a very reasonable price. Their subscription plans start at $25 and you can skip or cancel at any time. I was drawn to arrange the prints in the open shelves in our kitchen. I try to change this space up every few weeks, and was right in the middle of doing that when I received this set, so it was perfect timing. I loved the simplicity of the prints and how well the black designs fit with the other things on the shelves! If you are looking for ways to implement art in your kitchen, I recommend going with simple, neutral designs. It will be a lot easier to work around a design that doesn’t stand out too much but creates a beautiful contrast with the other items in your kitchen.

I would also recommend using art that, in a way, fits with anything you would have in a kitchen. Flowers, vegetables, and fruits are great examples. The print I have with the black frame looks like something I would have in my kitchen if it was real. Same with the delicate flowers and air plant in the other two prints. But that is by no means a rule, so if you have art that you think would look great in your kitchen, display it!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Let me know what you think of the art prints and how they are arranged. Also, please check out the beautiful pieces ArtMail has to offer! You don’t have to subscribe to shop! You can also check out their Facebook page here (be sure to hit the like button!)
