The Striped Blazer Two Ways

March 31, 2018

Have you noticed blazers popping up everywhere lately? It seems like they’re always in or at least not forgotten and I would say they’re definitely a staple piece and a must have in every wardrobe. I have a few blazers that I must admit are not designer brand, but have definitely survived all of my closet Spring cleanings. They are my ride or die when I need a cute cover up for work or something to keep me warm on those unpredictable weather days. So naturally, I’m always in the market for a new blazer. I recently spotted a few at Target, which by the way, didn’t surprise me one bit! The A New Day’s new collection has several “boyfriend blazers” that would make an amazing addition to any wardrobe. I decided on a navy striped blazer that fit perfectly and was light so I could still wear it on warmer days. When I took it home, I immediately knew I would have to create two separate looks! It’s so versatile that deciding on just two outfits was the hard part!

With Spring in full swing and Easter literally around the corner, I wanted to create a super light look. It’s actually perfect for an Easter outfit (after church I hope, lol) or a brunch date. As I’ve said before, blazers are perfect for days like the ones we’ve been having in Texas.. unpredictable. If you want to show some leg but are afraid you’ll get cold, throw on a blazer.

Believe it or not, this blazer is only $35 and is actually on sale right now for $24! They seem to still have it in all sizes, so I would grab one ASAP.

I paired the blazer with white shorts and a white blouse. I love wearing all white/black to make it look like I have a romper on, but if you actually have a romper… by all means, use it! To complete the look I threw on some rose gold sandals and a cute crossbody bag, which I also found at Target (both from A New Day collection) and if you’re not checking out their collection weekly.. you’re missing out! Haha! Okay maybe not weekly, but next time you go on a “target run” you must check out their stuff.

For the second look I used jeans and the same blouse from the first outfit. It’s a simple white blouse that looks perfect with the jeans and blazer, but you can also wear a white tee or a V-neck for an even more relaxed look. I wore the famous pink slides that were destroyed by my puppy but I found again by some miracle.. and for an even lower price! They are so comfortable and easy to pair, so finding them at Target, in my size, for a lower price made me a happy girl.

I had the pleasure of shooting this outfit with Maribel Morales the other day! She’s such a cutie and does an amazing job at capturing my style! You can find her on IG (she’s tagged in some of my photos!)
